On a personal note...

All of the glitz and the glamour aside, I won't deny that there can be struggles that arise when discussing topics such as fashion, pop culture and personal styling. Personal body image can be a struggle affects a large majority of men and women at one point or another.

Depressing dressing rooms, ever-changing size tags and unflattering mirrors can make shopping so dreadful to some and can often lead to the mindset that scares people away from pursuing up-to-date style simply because they don't believe that they will find clothing that actually fits.

This sentiment is all too familiar to me, as I struggled with body image issues early on in life and have battled an eating disorder that at one point in my life, paralyzed into thinking that my body was just "too different" and that nothing would ever fit me right or look good on me. Fortunately, this is a struggle that I have been able to overcome (not without help!) and I do believe that my personal experience can be a large asset in this industry. Because of my personal experience and growth, I have found the ability to connect with clients on a level that is deeper than clothing on their backs.

Whether struggling with body image is familiar sentiment to you or not, I firmly believe that understanding how to dress for your body type and structure is of paramount importance and that it is the best way to truly feel good about how you look.

When you know how to dress for your body, size is merely just a number and when size is just a number, shopping can become a LOT more fun!
